We couldn't be more excited to introduce French designer Claude Chavent!

Born in France in 1947, Chavent's use of illusion brings seeming volume and movement to forms while leaving them flat and light. He plays with optical illusions, using the contrasts of metal colors to develop virtual perspective in his dazzling jewelry. Other contrasts – such as yellow and black colors, precious and base metals, and refined and rough textures – are impeccably crafted from gold and oxidized iron in his designs. Chavent has a passion for architecture, which addresses and parallels his interest in form. Creating his magnificent designs in a studio in a small village outside of Montpellier in the south of France, Chavent's jewelry is in the permanent collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

Born in Japan, Ms. Ishiyama designs jewelry that is elegant in its simplicity and characterized by its extraordinary, unique finishes. She works in both sterling silver and gold, often combining or overlaying the metals to create looks that are both striking and organically soothing. To observe one of her pieces is to see the form she has released from a sheet of silver or gold, as if the earring, bracelet or necklace was implicit in the metal.  “The metals whisper to me”, says Ms. Ishiyama. Her work was offered  at Takashimaya in New York City for many years, and she has received numerous awards in the US, Europe, and Japan.

Every year, Tucson, AZ hosts the Gem and Mineral Show, the largest annual wholesale buying event in the country.
