Lisa Ziff (USA)

LISA ZIFF worked as an assistant in the mid-eighties for the world-renowned architect Frank O. Gehry. Lisa observed while Mr. Gehry collaborated with artists using diverse materials, high technology and primitive forms. She took that experience with her to Milan, where she worked for the design studio Alchimia. Lisa then returned to the U.S. to complete a Masters of Industrial Design at Rhode Island School of Design. There she used glass, metals, furniture and architecture to create her design thesis. She returned to Italy once again where she worked in the design field for only two years. Lisa decided to head home and open a design studio of her own. She created her own line of cast aluminum and glass housewares, which were sold to museum stores and high-end boutiques around the world. After five successful years Lisa took a sabbatical to raise her three children and once her kids started school she resumed her studio work only turning her focus to 18 karat gold jewelry. Lisa approaches jewelry from a sculptor’s point of view resulting in natural and organic forms while integrating gold with precious stones. Each hand made piece of Lisa’s unique line emanates sensuality and refinement.
